Medication management

You have built a successful career. Now build a life that feels as good as it looks.

Medication management is central to effective psychiatric care, and finding the right approach can transform how you feel, function, and experience daily life. If you are a busy professional in or around Lakeway, TX, searching for a psychiatrist who offers more than quick appointments and prescription refills, you have come to the right place. At White Orchid Psychiatry, I provide comprehensive, personalized psychiatric care that honors both the science of psychopharmacology and the deeply human experience of living with conditions like depression, anxiety, burnout, OCD, OCPD, and life-stage transitions.

Medication management at my practice goes beyond matching symptoms to prescriptions. I believe that truly effective psychiatric care requires understanding you as a whole person. Your history, your patterns, your relationships, your work life, and the unique circumstances that have shaped who you are today all matter. As a board-certified psychiatrist (MD), I bring the highest level of medical training to our work together, combined with a psychodynamic perspective that allows us to explore not just what you are experiencing, but why.

A Thoughtful Approach to Psychiatric Care

Many people come to me after feeling rushed through appointments elsewhere or frustrated by a system that treats psychiatric care as a numbers game. You deserve better. When you work with me, you can expect thoughtful conversations that get to the heart of what is happening in your life. My approach integrates the precision of medication management with the depth of psychodynamic understanding, addressing both the biological and psychological dimensions of your mental health.

As an MD psychiatrist, I have completed medical school, a psychiatry residency, and extensive training in both the biological and psychological aspects of mental health treatment. This comprehensive medical background allows me to conduct thorough evaluations, understand complex medication interactions, and provide the highest standard of psychiatric care based on current research and evidence-based practices.

Who I Work With

My practice serves adults, particularly professionals, who are navigating the challenges of modern life while managing conditions like depression, anxiety, burnout, OCD, OCPD, or significant life transitions. If you value self-reflection and want to understand the deeper patterns that influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, we are likely to work well together.

The professionals I work with are motivated, insightful, and genuinely curious about understanding themselves better. They recognize that while medication can be tremendously helpful, lasting change often requires examining the underlying dynamics that contribute to their distress.

What Makes Psychodynamic Psychiatry Different

Rather than focusing primarily on changing thoughts and behaviors, psychodynamic psychiatry emphasizes understanding the unconscious patterns, developmental experiences, and relational dynamics that shape how we experience ourselves and the world. The goal is not just symptom relief but genuine self-understanding, the kind of insight that creates lasting change.

When I combine this perspective with medication management, we are not just treating symptoms. We are helping you understand yourself in ways that transform how you navigate your life. Many of my patients find that this approach helps them feel better while also making better decisions, having more satisfying relationships, and finding greater meaning in their work.

The Treatment Process

I have designed my intake process to be thorough yet respectful of your time. Before your first appointment, you will complete intake paperwork that covers your psychiatric history, medical background, and current concerns. While this paperwork is detailed, it serves an important purpose: by gathering this information in advance, we can use our initial appointment for meaningful conversation rather than administrative questions.

When you schedule your appointment through my online booking system, you will be asked to provide credit card information. Your card will not be charged until your appointment takes place.

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin developing an understanding of your situation. By the end of our initial consultation, we will have a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

Once care is established, you can book your own appointments through the patient portal. Communication between appointments is handled through the portal on my website, and I respond within 24 to 48 hours. For those who are interested, I sometimes suggest reflection exercises to deepen the work we are doing together.

Convenient Care Options

I offer both online and in-person appointments to accommodate diverse needs. Online sessions provide flexibility for busy professionals who find it difficult to travel during the workday. In-person sessions are available for those who prefer face-to-face interaction. Both formats allow for the same depth of engagement and quality of care.
